 आधुनिक कवि निश्तर खानकाही साहब की पुण्यतिथि पर   (फरवरी 1930 – 07 मार्च 2006) निश्तर खानकाही का जन्म फरवरी 1930 में उत्तर प्रदेश के बिजनौर जिले के जहानाबाद में हुआ था। उन्होंने अपनी स्कूली शिक्षा बिजनौर में ही प्राप्त की, लेकिन इसके बाद वे अपनी पढ़ाई जारी नहीं रख सके और आजीविका की तलाश में दिल्ली आ गए। दिल्ली में उन्होंने पत्रकारिता को अपना पेशा बनाया और 'शाहराह', 'सौ बरस' और 'मुशाहिदे' जैसी मासिक पत्रिकाओं का संपादन किया। उनकी रचनाएं और लेख हिंदी पत्रिकाओं में भी निरंतर प्रकाशित होते रहे। दिल्ली के बाद वे मुंबई में भी रहे, जहाँ वे दैनिक 'जम्हूरियत' से जुड़े रहे। जीवन के अंतिम दिनों में वह अपने गृह जनपद बिजनौर आ गए और वहां उर्दू रोज नाम रोजाना खबर जदीद का संपादन किया और दैनिक बिजनौर टाइम्स के संपादन मंडल से जुड़े रहे  उनके लंबे पत्रकारिता के अनुभव का प्रभाव उनकी शायरी में स्पष्ट रूप से दिखाई देता है। उनकी गजलें और नज़्में समकालीन राजनीतिक, सामाजिक और सांस्कृतिक मुद्दों को कलात्मक ढंग से पेश करती हैं। उर्दू और हिंदी में उनके कई कविता संग्रह प्रकाशित हुए,...
